Las 3 Diosas Brujas de la Vega

“Estaban
allí […] estaban las tres viejas,
tapadas casi del todo con sus negros paños; […] como una trinidad de diosas
fatales de las brujas granadíes, estaban allí.”

The trip to Granada of the writer from Huelva Juan Ramon Jimenez with his wife Zenobia arose from his friendship with Federico Garcia Lorca and it supposed a deep experience that it would reflect on his Literature. In June of 1924 he was invited by the Garcia Lorca family to visit Granada. They walked around the most emblematic places of the city and focused their trip in discovering places like the Carrera del Darro (where our hotel is located), Paseo de los Tristes and the viewpoint of San Nicolas.  Manuel de Falla was a great guide of Juan Ramón and his wife. The experiences lived in Granada and mainly the Generalife and the Alhambra inspire the poet to create  his play "Olvidos de Granada". There, The verses and stories wiritten on this plays evoke places, characters like the superstitious old women shown in “Las tres diosas brujas de la Vega” or small events, traces of the literary perspective of the poet and the particular vision of the poet.

One of our Standard rooms takes its name of this Juan Ramón Jiménez poem "Las tres diosas brujas de la Vega" That is a quiet and cahrming room full of history.
