The Poetry of Flowing Water

Superior Rooms . . . with Superior Views

Our superior rooms face to the front or side of our beautiful and historic boutique hotel in Granada.  Some have lovely views of the tree lined River Darro while others overlook historical buildings in our neighbourhood. Our superior rooms are named after poems or plays: "Fantasía Bética", "La Luna Asoma", "El Regreso" which translated mean “Betic Fantasy”, “The Moon Appears” and “The Return”, or they have borrowed their names from famous Spanish artists: Manuel de Falla and Federico Garcia Lorca.

These superior rooms offer you large and comfortable beds, and a unique design and décor as each room has been individually decorated and furnished with top quality furniture and artworks. The terracotta floors and oriental rugs give a warm and inviting style to the room.  The dramatic high wooden ceilings hint at the Moorish past of this beautiful and historic hotel in Granada.  Gentle but effective lighting including LED bedside reading lamps, add to the calming ambience of the space.  Each superior room comes with a full en suite bathroom with the finest tiling, and bath tubs or showers complete with Molton Brown products.

Our aim at El Ladron de Agua is to make your stay in Granada truly memorable.  Let our experienced staff help you to make the most of your stay in this well located hotel in Granada and do come to us with any queries about how to get around Granada.  Spend your days and evenings exploring our historic city with the Alhambra and the Albayzin safe in the knowledge you can return to the cool tranquillity of our stunning 16th Century building at any time.

We look forward to seeing you!

Great service, Great Location

We truly enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The service was outstanding and the location was great. There was a very nice breakfast and evening sherry and tapas was a nice added touch. Great area for walking around and many good restaurants close by.

Exceptionally Beautiful Place to Stay

We spent 4 nights at El Ladron de Agua, and enjoyed almost every minute of our stay there. The hotel's employees were pleasant and helpful. Our room was excellent with a comfortable bed and large bathroom. The downstairs courtyard was designed in a modern motif which was extremely beautiful. The breakfast room and lounge were also well designed and beautiful. Art work is scattered throughout. It is an excellent location for a visit to the old …

Our Hotel

This 16th century noble house has been skilfully restored into a beautiful hotel with fifteen guestrooms. El Ladron de Agua, meaning "The Water Thief", is taken from the title of a poem by Juan Ramon Jimenez in Olvidos de Granada and is a showcase for local and regional art.

Our Legacy

On his visit to Granada, Juan Ramon Jimenez was taken by Granada's beauty and wrote a poetry collection drawing on his many Grenadine experiences; a collection now housed in the hotel library.

Classy, calm refuge in prime location

A tastefully and comfortably appointed 16th-century palace whose rooms evoke the music and poetry of Granada. Helpful staff and cozy rooms make this an excellent choice for enjoying the city's sites but also insulated to keep out noise. I plan to ret…
