The Poetry of Flowing Water

...Superior Rooms

Some with River Views

These rooms face to the front or side and some have lovely views of the River Darro while others overlook historical buildings in our neighborhood. Our Superior Rooms are named after poems or plays: "Fantasía Bética", "La Luna Asoma", "El Regreso" or have borrowed their names from famous Spanish artists: Manuel de Falla and Federico Garcia Lorca.

These rooms offer you comfortable beds, unique design and decor. They also feature full bathrooms with the finest tiling, and bath tubs or showers.

Each room is warm and inviting. The rooms have terracotta tiled floors with oriental rugs, solid wood ceiling work and furniture, original art and pieces of fine craft work. Gentle but effective lighting includes LED bedside reading lamps.

We did not want to leave

I do not frequently comment on hotels on Tripadvisor, but I strongly feel the need to, and will, give your hotel an excellent review when I get time. Your hotel is beautiful, friendly, in a perfect location on one of the most famous and elegant streets in the world, and, well, just perfect in every way. The last night I was there I spent 30 minutes just photographing the carved wooden ceiling in our room -- a ceiling that had hand cut beams e…

Excellent hotel, great location

This charming hotel is wonderfully located on the Carrera del Darro, a charming pedestrian (except for taxis) street along the Darro River below the Alhambra. Although there is no hotel parking do not be discouraged. There is a public parking garage, the San Agustin Carpark, next to the cathedral and near Plaza Nueva, that is a 10 minute walk or a short taxi ride from the hotel. Understated Elegance and Comfort

A short walk from Plaza Nueva.

Our Hotel

This 16th century noble house has been skilfully restored into a beautiful hotel with fifteen guestrooms. El Ladron de Agua, meaning "The Water Thief", is taken from the title of a poem by Juan Ramon Jimenez in Olvidos de Granada and is a showcase for local and regional art.

Our Legacy

On his visit to Granada, Juan Ramon Jimenez was taken by Granada's beauty and wrote a poetry collection drawing on his many Grenadine experiences; a collection now housed in the hotel library.

A winter stay

Wonderful hotel, great location, super service. I would - and will - definitely recommend. We had a room at the front which overlooked Career Del Darro - views up to the Alhambra. We stayed in a superior room but all those I saw were good.
