A Deluxe Experience with Alhambra Views

Delux Plus Room . . . A Moorish Masterpiece

Located on the 2nd floor of one of the most historic hotels in Granada our deluxe plus room has superb views of the Alhambra from your very own romantic balcony.  Pull back the shutters and lie back and enjoy the sights of Granada from the comfort of your bed!

This large elegant room has unique artistic elements with hand-picked furniture and takes its name from Juan Ramon Jimenez' poem "La Fuente Opalina" which translates as “The Opaline Fountain”.  It is the perfect place to relax after a busy day exploring the narrow streets of the Albayzin and the historic city centre.

This luxury room in our Alhambra hotel is warm and inviting and has terracotta tiled floors with oriental rugs, solid wood ceilings and furniture, original art and pieces of fine craft work. There is a large bed with sumptous bed linen there is even room to accommodate three guests when an extra bed is requested.  A large flat screen TV is a nod to the modern side to this Alhambra hotel which has WiFi in all the guest rooms and communal areas.

Gentle but effective lighting including LED bedside reading lamps creates a calming ambience to this beautiful and unique boutique room.  There is also a full sized bathroom with the finest tiling, a power shower, and of course, our fine Egyptian cotton linens.  Molton Brown bath products complete the package.

Our aim at El Ladron de Agua is to make your stay in Granada truly special.  We consider ourselves to be one of the most historic and well placed hotels in Granada and we are sure you won’t be disappointed with your choice of rooms.

Simple elegance

We made a last minute booking as we had tickets for the Alhambra and on arrival at the hotel were given a warm and friendly welcome. This is a lovely hotel, tastefully appointed to show case the history of the building; our room was simple and elegant and the location could not be better in beautiful Granada.

Excellent hotel, great location

This charming hotel is wonderfully located on the Carrera del Darro, a charming pedestrian (except for taxis) street along the Darro River below the Alhambra. Although there is no hotel parking do not be discouraged. There is a public parking garage, the San Agustin Carpark, next to the cathedral and near Plaza Nueva, that is a 10 minute walk or a short taxi ride from the hotel. Our Hotel

This 16th century noble house has been skilfully restored into a beautiful hotel with fifteen guestrooms. El Ladron de Agua, meaning "The Water Thief", is taken from the title of a poem by Juan Ramon Jimenez in Olvidos de Granada and is a showcase for local and regional art.

Our Legacy

On his visit to Granada, Juan Ramon Jimenez was taken by Granada's beauty and wrote a poetry collection drawing on his many Grenadine experiences; a collection now housed in the hotel library.

Beautiful hotel with a fantastic concept, in a great location

This is one of the best hotels we've ever stayed on. Not necessarily because of luxury or amenities but because of its wonderful and interesting concept, impeccable attention to details and charm. We spent two nights in August during a trip to Granad…
