SUMMER at El Ladrón de Agua: The joy of water and sun

We don’t complain about the heat in this ancient city. Summer is here and we like to feel the sunshine. Even more so when the previous seasons have left behind an abundance of water in the surrounding mountains, water that now flows freely in the city’s fountains and rivers, and of course in the magical channels of the Alhambra and Generalife. Now it is time to enjoy the warmth of the sun, to seek out cool spots next to fountains and on the banks of our rivers. It is ice cream, fruit and gazpacho season, time to enjoy a swimming pool or even head down to the beach like so many local residents – it’s just 30 minutes down the motorway after all. It is also the season to get up early with the cool morning air, prepare a picnic and head for one of the local rivers to enjoy their unique microclimate, the sound of rushing water and spectacular mountain views.

Heading back in the evening, the fresh mountain air blows down into the city to cool it once more. Time for a shower and fresh clothes, to enjoy some tapas and Granada’s wonderful nightlife… you can already make out the strumming chords of guitars emanating from one the many excellent flamenco venues to be found in the city in summertime (for example have a look to the excellent program Los Veranos del Corral. Otherwise, there is classical music and dance – Granada’s International Festival, one of Europe’s most highly rated, is on now. So, what can we Granada locals tell you? You can check out of your room in the afternoon of the last day (checking in after 5pm on day of arrival). You only have to book with this option.

I f you book more than two weeks in advance, we will give you a 10% discount (on accommodation price) for any type of room. This offer will be valid throughout 2009.

I f you have already stayed at Hotel de Peregrinos or at El ladrón de agua hotel, you'll have 10% discount.

4. Third night free

I f you stay for three two nights, we give you the third night free of charge for all room types.

5. A ROOM WITH A VIEW

W e will give you a superior category room (even with views of the Alhambra) for the price of a lower category. Offer valid for all rooms, including Torreon Suite.

6. Young people get almost everything for 100

Accommodation in a standard room, breakfast and Alhambra tickets for two people for just 100 euros/day. If you are under 35 we make it easy for you to discover and enjoy Granada for 2 or more days in one of its most special, romantic hotels, this magical palace building located in the age-old Albayzin neighbourhood.

7. Come as a group: one room free

What better idea for a group of friends than to plan a getaway to Granada. If you book 3 or more double rooms, we give you a fourth room (standard) for two people free.

If you stay for two nights or more in a superior extra category room, we give you one night free in a standard room next to it. Book it in advance because we only have two rooms with these conditions.

We will lend you a mountain bike free of charge and give you various suggestinos of routes to explore the city or the surrounding area (don't delay though - we have a limited number of bikes).

10. Guided tour of the city with its Moorish and Christian history.

We give you two tickets free of charge for this tour with official guides - you will feel the poetry of Granada cross the ages with its urban landscapes, hidden corners and stunning buildings.
